G321: Remaking a Film Opening: How it was done

When remaking the film opening we had to consider many key concepts/ characteristics the opening contains. A main thing we had to consider was the lighting of the piece. The lighting of the piece is dark however all facial expression is still visible throughout the piece, this can cause problems because a room location that is dark enough must be found with enough natural light for expressions to be visible. Costumes are also important to the sequence because they can be used to gage the time the film was set. Before we started filming we chose a room with controllable light to allow us to get the low key lighting required for the opening sequence. we also found the correct props or props that looked similar to the sequence so our overall opening titles would look the same. When it came to actually filming the piece we used the shot list and story board to know what to film and also watched the sequence a number of times to insure we got the shots exact as they were in the piece.
