Homicide
From watching this piece it is difficult to get an idea of what the genre would be, this is because there is very little action to tell us and the action used could be used for a number of different genres. There are quite a large number of camera angles used varying from a close up of someone's feet to a long shot of someone walking to show there surroundings to get an idea of the setting of this film. The editing used in this piece is minimal as the transitions are cuts rather than using transitions such as fades. The diegetic sound used within the opening sequence is clear and easy to hear. The non-diegetic music is continuous throughout the piece with the tone of the music changing when the action increases, this makes the opening more tense so it makes us aware of the tone of the film. The lighting in the opening sequence is naturalistic as they use the lighting you would expect to see in the settings such as an underpass as well as on office, by using naturalistic light it makes the entire piece seem more realistic. By using the costumes they have chosen it also helps toward the realistic tone as they characters are wearing clothing you would expect to see them in when in those situations. The titles in this piece are not integrated, this means they stand out and are easy to read, however as the screen goes black whenever you see the title they slow down the opening sequence.
