Evaluation Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

These characters have a number of similarities and differences. They both dress in a classic teenage way, bother being casual. This allows the audience to identify with the main characters because they are seen as a practically stereotypical teen. The difference in the costume is that Alex (the top image) wears slightly darker clothes to connote the darker tones later on in the film.
Although the story line of each film is different both characters have a similar role within the film. They both the main character of the film even though they aren't the character that being possessed, it shows how they cope with the situation they find themselves in.

Representations: Our film doesn't focus on particular representations. However in the main group of friends in the film we have used slightly stereotypical representations of teen social group to allow the audience to quickly identify each character and form ideas of how each character will interact before we learn more about there character. Gender is something we chose not to focus on as all the main character are boys and the antagonist being a demon doesn't really have a gender therefore gender is not strongly considered in the film. Disability is however considered in our film as one of the boys left at the end of the story ends up in a mental home after what he experienced. Age is another thing that is not really represented as the majority of characters in the piece are teenagers.
